Abide in Christ
John 15:1-6 tells us that Jesus in the vine, if we abide in him we will bear much fruit. Without him we can do nothing. Genuine spiritual fruit doesn’t come from trying harder or proving one’s worth. As an apple tree only produces tasty apples when it’s roots are anchored in soil that provides the best nutrients; we thrive spiritually and produce lasting fruit for God’s Kingdom only when we are anchored in Christ.
As Jesus-followers it’s easy to fall into the trap that we must work harder to produce spiritual fruit. But just as the apple tree can’t do anything except abide; we too must learn to abide. As we learn to rest in Jesus, abundant fruit will be the natural by-product of our lives! You can trust that the Holy Spirit will produce fruit in your life as you abide in Jesus and daily submit to his will.
